Ingredients

  • 150ml/5fl oz milk
  • 2 tbsp cream
  • 50g/2oz plain chocolate
  • 25g/1oz butter
  • 1 tbsp golden syrup
  • 2.5cm/1in root ginger, grated

Preparation

  • Put the milk in pan to heat. Bring to the boil and add the cream, keep warm.
  • Put the chocolate and butter in a bowl and mix well. Grate the ginger into the mixture, add the golden syrup, hot milk and cream and stir until melted.
  • Sieve the sauce and keep warm until needed.
